Hello and good morning everyone!

Today we are gathered here to celebrate World Students’ Day. Student life is very important for everyone. An ideal student is one who studies diligently and adopts virtues, not only himself but also elevates the name of his parents and the school. He leaves behind such examples which become exemplary for other students.

The main purpose of celebrating World Students Day is that people, especially students, know about the great scientist and former President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad and learn something from his life.

Many news sources have published articles claiming that in the year 2010, on 15 October, the United Nations announced the celebration of World Students Day across the world. This date was considered special because on this day the birthday of the former President of our country, Dr. Abdul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam comes. It was announced by the United Nations Organization (UNO) to celebrate World Students Day on 15 October on the occasion of Abdul Kalam’s birthday. So that the contribution made by Abdul Kalam to science and technology can be remembered. However, there is no official clarification to date.

He was also known as Missile Man. This decision was taken in view of his contribution to the field of economy, science and technology. Apart from being a scientist and politician, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was also a hard-working teacher. Whatever speech he gave, affected all the people. Abdul Kalam was an idol for every student and still is today. He used to play the role of motivator and guide for every student.

He had no idea which class or caste that student belonged to. Throughout his life, his life was full of many difficulties and challenges, due to which the journey of his student life was not easy.

As a child, he also did the work of selling newspapers to feed his family and himself. But his determination and hard work towards his studies helped him overcome every challenge that came in his life and he also succeeded later. Facing every challenge, he later became the President of India.

In his journey of scientific and political life, he also saw himself as a teacher. Children used to be very dear to Abdul Kalam Ji. Addressing the students always gave them peace and happiness. For him all the students were equal. It did not matter to them what caste or religion that student belonged to and which small or big educational place he belonged to.

His interest in teaching was so much that he had once decided to leave the cabinet rank post as Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and thought of becoming a teacher.

Abdul Kalam Ji focused on many students, scientific, academic, and spiritual progress from all over the world throughout his lifetime. Throughout his life, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ji gave many speeches and also wrote many books from which students and other people from all over the world got to learn a lot.

Do you know what happened after his pivotal role in the Pokhran trial? Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam visited Switzerland in 2005 after which the country declared 26 May as ‘Science Day’ to honour him.

He had received many awards including Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Veer Savarkar Award, Ramanujan Award etc. Let us tell you that various educational, and scientific institutions and some places like Uttar Pradesh have been named in the honor of Dr. Abdul Kalam. Technical University UPTU was renamed “APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University”, Kerala Technological University was renamed “APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University” etc. after his death.

He had written many popular books such as Wings of Fire: An Autobiography (1999), Ignited Minds: Unleading the Power Within India (2002), India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium (co-authored with Yagyaswamy Sundar Rajan, (1998), etc.

Considering the important contribution made by him in science, technology and education as the basis, it was decided to celebrate 15 October as World Students Day. World Students Day is celebrated not only in his memory but there are other reasons to celebrate it as well.

World Students Day is widely celebrated all over India. On this day, students engage in meaningful acts of social responsibility, gather on their campus, indulge themselves in healthy and jovial competitions and debates, and have lots of fun with food, games and gossip. So, now we have come to know that World Students Day is celebrated every year on 15th October on the birth anniversary of Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. आज हम यहां विश्व छात्र दिवस मनाने के लिए एकत्रित हुए हैं। विद्यार्थी जीवन सभी के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होता है। आदर्श विद्यार्थी वह होता है जो लगन से पढ़ाई करता है और गुणों को अपनाता है, न केवल खुद बल्कि अपने माता-पिता और स्कूल का नाम भी ऊंचा करता है। वह अपने पीछे ऐसे उदाहरण छोड़ जाते हैं जो अन्य छात्रों के लिए अनुकरणीय बनते हैं।

विश्व छात्र दिवस मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य यह है कि लोग, विशेषकर छात्र, महान वैज्ञानिक और भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डॉ अब्दुल कलाम आजाद के बारे में जानें और उनके जीवन से कुछ सीखें।

एक बच्चे के रूप में, उन्होंने अपने परिवार और खुद को खिलाने के लिए अखबार बेचने का काम भी किया। लेकिन पढ़ाई के प्रति उनके दृढ़ संकल्प और कड़ी मेहनत ने उन्हें अपने जीवन में आने वाली हर चुनौती से पार पाने में मदद की और बाद में उन्हें सफलता भी मिली। हर चुनौती का सामना करते हुए वे बाद में भारत के राष्ट्रपति बने। वैज्ञानिक और राजनीतिक जीवन की अपनी यात्रा में उन्होंने खुद को एक शिक्षक के रूप में भी देखा।

अब्दुल कलाम जी को बच्चे बहुत प्यारे थे। छात्रों को संबोधित करते हुए उन्हें हमेशा शांति और खुशी मिली। उनके लिए सभी छात्र समान थे। उन्हें इस बात से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता था कि वह छात्र किस जाति या धर्म का था और वह किस छोटे या बड़े शैक्षणिक स्थान का था।अध्यापन के प्रति उनकी रुचि इतनी थी कि उन्होंने एक बार भारत सरकार के मुख्य वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के रूप में कैबिनेट रैंक का पद छोड़ने का फैसला किया और शिक्षक बनने का विचार किया। अब्दुल कलाम जी ने अपने पूरे जीवनकाल में दुनिया भर से कई छात्रों, वैज्ञानिक, शैक्षणिक और आध्यात्मिक प्रगति पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया। डॉ एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम जी ने अपने पूरे जीवन में कई भाषण दिए और कई किताबें भी लिखीं जिनसे दुनिया भर के छात्रों और अन्य लोगों को बहुत कुछ सीखने को मिला।

क्या आप जानते हैं कि पोखरण मुकदमे में उनकी अहम भूमिका के बाद क्या हुआ था? डॉ ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलाम ने 2005 में स्विट्जरलैंड का दौरा किया जिसके बाद देश ने उनकी यात्रा के सम्मान और सम्मान के लिए 26 मई को ‘विज्ञान दिवस’ के रूप में घोषित किया। उन्हें भारत रत्न, पद्म भूषण, पद्म विभूषण, वीर सावरकर पुरस्कार, रामानुजन पुरस्कार आदि सहित कई पुरस्कार मिले थे। आपको बता दें कि विभिन्न शैक्षणिक और वैज्ञानिक संस्थानों और उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे कुछ स्थानों का नाम डॉ अब्दुल कलाम के सम्मान में रखा गया है। . उनकी मृत्यु के बाद तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय UPTU का नाम बदलकर “APJ अब्दुल कलाम तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय” कर दिया गया, केरल प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय का नाम बदलकर “APJ अब्दुल कलाम प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय” आदि कर दिया गया।
